Asset Manager – Multifamily Real Estate

Location: Walnut Creek, CA | Local Travel Required

Full-Time | Newly Created Role

Our client, a growing multifamily real estate investment and development firm, is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee a dynamic portfolio of properties across the Bay Area. This is an exciting opportunity for a property manager looking to elevate their career into asset management while joining a collaborative and growth-oriented team.

About the Role:

This newly created position will report to the Director of Asset Management and play a critical role in overseeing the performance and operational health of both stabilized and development-stage properties. The ideal candidate will be capable of working autonomously while also collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders. They will help drive value, ensure efficient operations, and support strategic decision-making across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day performance of a portfolio of multifamily assets, including stabilized and under-development properties
  • Conduct regular site visits to evaluate property condition, performance, and operational needs
  • Collaborate closely with third-party property management teams to ensure business plans and budgets are effectively executed
  • Monitor financial performance, including variance reporting, rent rolls, leasing trends, and expense control
  • Assist in preparing and managing annual operating budgets and capital improvement plans
  • Partner with development and construction teams on lease-ups, renovations, and pre-stabilization activities
  • Identify operational efficiencies and value-add opportunities across the portfolio
  • Maintain frequent communication with leadership, providing insights, updates, and performance reporting
  • Support special projects and help define processes as the role continues to grow and evolve

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in property management or asset management within multifamily real estate
  • Client services experience
  • Strong understanding of property operations, leasing, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cross-functionally , with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced, growth environment
  • Willingness to travel regularly to properties across the Bay Area
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
