We are seeking an experienced Solution Expert Manager (SEM) to join our government team based in London. In this role, you will collaborate with our sales directors to build new business relationships and achieve targeted revenue objectives across Europe. Responsibilities:

  • The SEM’s primary responsibility is to drive the technical aspects of the sales process, transforming each prospect into a customer.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Windward’s solutions and offerings for government agencies.
  • Understand client requirements and address them with compelling solutions to secure contract awards.
  • Act as the key point of contact for prospective clients throughout the entire sales process.
  • Craft and refine sales pitches, lead demo meetings and presentations, conduct trials, and compile technical reports and supporting materials to convert prospects.
  • Understanding the client’s organization, requirements, and system infrastructure can help you create effective proposals and responses to RFPs/RFIs.
  • Communicate insights to various stakeholders, including marketing, customer success, product, and R&D, to enhance the customer experience within the company.
  • Understand the sector ecosystem and competitive landscape and effectively articulate Windward’s value proposition and differentiators (technical and operational).

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience as a Solution Expert / Pre-Sales in a SaaS company selling to government agencies.
  • Knowledge of government budgetary cycles and processes.
  • Experience in managing large, successful tender bids.
  • Strong understanding of geopolitical situations and the corresponding interests of relevant agencies.
  • In-depth understanding of decision-making in government environments.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; quick learner; curious and open-minded.
  • Familiarity with CRM (Salesforce, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Experience with GenAI tools is mandatory.
  • Intelligence or analyst experience is a plus, along with strong analytical skills.
  • Maritime experience is highly advantageous.
  • Experience working in a global company with headquarters outside Europe is an added advantage.
