Key Responsibilities:

• Work Shift: Night Shift (Full-time, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) – *Please note: The description mentions "Days (7am-7pm)" in the summary, but the "Work Shift" and job context indicate this is a Night
• Shift position. Post as Nights.*
• Shift Leadership & Operations: Direct daily unit activities on assigned shift. Make appropriate staff and patient assignments, manage patient flow and bed placement, and ensure efficient use of resources. Round on all patients to evaluate care quality and provide peer coaching.
• Clinical Expertise & Oversight: Often takes a modified patient assignment. Provide oversight of the nursing process for the unit, ensuring care is evidence-based, individualized, and safe. Serve as the primary clinical resource and problem-solver for nursing staff.
• Team Coordination & Communication: Facilitate effective interdisciplinary communication and partnership. Communicate proactively with nurse management regarding any unit needs, concerns, or performance issues. Round with physicians and ensure comprehensive hand-offs.
• Staff Development & Environment: Contribute to a positive, inclusive clinical environment. Act as a preceptor/mentor, support the recruitment and retention of staff, and participate in performance improvement and shared governance initiatives.
• Compliance & Safety: Uphold all clinical competencies, policies, and regulatory standards (e.g., TJC). Ensure patient/family/staff confidentiality and corporate compliance.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Key skills; Registered Nurse (RN), Charge Nurse, Medical-Surgical (MedSurg), Leadership, BLS, Night Shift
• Licensure: Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license or Multi-State Compact RN license.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing as an Associate Degree/Diploma Nurse required. Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required upon hire.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 2 years preferred. Experience as a relief charge nurse or in a similar informal leadership role with strong clinical expertise in a MedSurg or acute care setting is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities. Must be highly organized, able to multitask, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to teamwork and staff development is essential.
