Job Title: Real Estate Paralegal

Location: Southside Chicago, IL – Hyde Park Area

Industry: Healthcare

Compensation: $28–$38/hour

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

About Our Client:

Addison Group is hiring on behalf of a client seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support a busy real estate team within a large healthcare organization. The client manages complex real estate and financing transactions and is looking for a detail-oriented professional to assist with document review, closings, and lease transactions.

Job Description:

This Real Estate Paralegal will provide support across due diligence, closing processes, and lease transactions while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires reviewing and redlining documents, managing timelines, and ensuring compliance with contracts, lender requirements, and organizational policies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adept at managing multiple projects, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support acquisitions and financing transactions by coordinating due diligence, reviewing documents, preparing closing binders, and tracking deadlines.
  • Review and redline leases and Letters of Intent, manage execution and archiving of lease documents, and monitor critical dates such as rent commencement and possession.
  • Assist with post-closing tasks including permits, licenses, SNDA’s, and indemnities.
  • Communicate professionally with external vendors, landlords, title companies, and surveyors, and maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Schedule and organize meetings, conference calls, and follow-up actions as needed.
  • Build and maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office Suite, DocuSign, and Smartsheet.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in legal support, ideally with commercial real estate, contract management, or corporate legal experience.
  • College degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Experience in law firms, corporate legal departments, title companies, or similar environments.
  • Notary Public status is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, DocuSign, and Smartsheet (or similar tools).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Additional Details:

  • Long-term temporary role (6+ months)
  • 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
  • Reports to the Director of Real Estate.
