Job Title: Project Manager – PACS Migration (Clinical Engineering, Imaging Devices)

Location: Remote with up to 25% travel across the U.S.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to lead a national Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) migration project, with a focus on clinical imaging devices across our network of hospitals and clinics in 24 states . This role will sit within the Clinical Engineering team and will coordinate efforts across internal stakeholders, vendors, IT, Radiology, and Biomedical teams to ensure the seamless migration and integration of PACS with a wide array of imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, etc.).

This is a high-impact role within one of the largest non-profit health systems in the country , requiring excellent communication, technical acumen, and strong project leadership across geographically distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the imaging device project management of the PACS migration, focusing specifically on the interface and impact on clinical imaging devices.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk assessments, and resource allocations .
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Clinical Engineering, Radiology, IT, modality vendors, PACS vendors, and site-level stakeholders.
  • Oversee modality readiness assessments , DICOM configuration, testing, and validation in coordination with biomedical and IT teams.
  • Coordinate and track device-level migration activities , including image routing, storage validation, and decommissioning of legacy systems.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance , patient safety, and minimal clinical disruption during cutovers and device integrations.
  • Facilitate regular status updates, executive reporting, and stakeholder communications across the health system.
  • Support change management activities including training, go-live support , and issue resolution.
  • Travel to sites as necessary to support go-lives, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare Technology Management, Project Management , or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience managing large-scale clinical engineering or healthcare technology projects.
  • Proven experience with PACS systems and imaging modalities (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips, Canon).
  • In-depth knowledge of DICOM standards , modality workflow, and device integration in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong familiarity with clinical environments , Radiology workflows, and hospital infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-site projects with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors .
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification .
  • Prior experience with enterprise-wide PACS migrations .
  • Understanding of HL7, IHE, VNA systems , and cloud-based imaging solutions.
  • Experience working within large, multi-state healthcare organizations.
  • Background in Clinical/Biomedical Engineering with imaging device experience.
