Job Description

Optomi, in partnership with one of the largest electric power holding companies the United States, is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and manage complex cybersecurity-focused IT initiatives within the Power Grid Operations Transmission (PGO-T) environment. This role is critical to supporting NERC-CIP compliance and broader cybersecurity programs across utility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders, leadership teams, and technical groups to ensure successful roadmap development, tool implementation, and project execution.

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

  • Develop and maintain a five-year strategic roadmap for cybersecurity tool deployment
  • Manage multiple IT projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity goals
  • Oversee scope, cost, schedule, risk, and resource planning
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business, technical, and compliance teams
  • Maintain up-to-date program plans, forecasts, and documentation
  • Deliver presentations and status reports to senior leadership and project sponsors
  • Ensure all projects follow PMCoE standards and governance processes
  • Address data gaps and support the PGO Investment Plan with informed recommendations
  • Support post-implementation processes such as reporting, compliance tracking, and continuous improvement

Qualifications of the Right Candidate:

  • Minimum 11 years of IT project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s or MBA (preferred)
  • Proven success in delivering large-scale IT or cybersecurity tool implementations
  • Strong knowledge of NERC-CIP and/or NIST cybersecurity frameworks
  • Experience in the utility, power grid, or energy industry strongly preferred
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, including stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency in developing project roadmaps, managing risks, and tracking execution
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and business teams
  • PMP certification or equivalent (preferred)
