POSITION TITLE: Packaging Engineer

LOCATION: Fullerton, CA

Summary

NF Beauty Group is a cosmetics packaging and manufacturing company with over 20 years of professional client experience. We are looking to expand our team with a Packaging Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company that offers an agile and youthful team with a lot of energy to push through problems and innovate daily! This position will be responsible for packaging design for manufacturing, validation, test plan development and collaboration across teams.

As our Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the structural development of primary and secondary packaging across skincare, cosmetics, and personal care categories. You will work cross-functionally with our design, operations, and formulation teams to ensure packaging is innovative, functional, cost-effective, and ready for mass production.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop innovative primary and secondary packaging components
• Work closely with industrial design, graphic design, QC/QA and manufacturing vendors to incorporate changes into the part design that increases manufacturability
• Assess project requirements and spec materials for production feasibility
• Review technical drawings and ensure dimensional accuracy and engineering feasibility.
• Develop budgets, timelines & specs with clients and managers
• Develop & implement designs and test procedures
• Measures performance, document and report, test, evaluate, and modify products
• Present creative ideas to improve the function based on aesthetic design intent and materials innovation
• Model and manage manufacturable designs in 3D CAD/Solidworks
• Conduct product testing to verify that prototypes and production components perform to meet design and functionality intent
• Analyze data and product specs to determine manufacturing feasibility
• Design parts and assemblies for high volume production of plastic manufacturing processes: injection molding, vacuum forming compression molding, blow molding etc.
• Review, adjust and complete CAD models or Technical Drawings of primary packaging designs
• Communicate with overseas vendors to ensure quality and integrity of packaging design being maintained through production and end user

Requirements

• 2-4 years of professional experience in an engineering function
• Proficiency in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software: Solid modeling, surfacing experience, engineering drawings, prototyping and testing
• Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
• Capable of interacting with and conveying concepts within all levels of our organization
• Passion for designing features and a great vision for fundamental aesthetic design combined with engineering principles
• Strong ability to work independently on QC/QA and communicate with overseas manufacturing
• Some Mandarin language skills preferred but not required
• Some Korean language skills preferred but not required
