Production Operations Packaging Manager Position Overview

The Production Operation Packaging Manager will oversee day-to-day production operations. This position is responsible for achieving manufacturing objectives, managing and developing team members, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement efforts within a regulated production environment.

Position Summary

The Production Operations Packaging Manager will lead a team of operators and supervisors to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes. This individual will play a key role in production planning, performance tracking, compliance, and staff development.

Production Operations Packaging Manager Responsibilities:

• Participate in production planning meetings to align resources with scheduling requirements
• Ensure adequate staffing and training to meet production targets
• Set and monitor performance goals, focusing on efficiency and continuous improvement
• Provide regular updates and visual performance metrics to team members
• Lead initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce downtime, and improve output
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams on improvement projects
• Analyze operational issues and recommend or implement corrective actions
• Support equipment evaluations and process enhancements
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and safety standards (e.g., GMP or other quality frameworks)
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance documentation
• Escalate and document deviations or quality concerns appropriately
• Manage, coach, and evaluate a team of more than 10 employees
• Promote employee engagement and foster a culture of accountability
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs
• Maintain familiarity with HR policies and effectively manage personnel matters

Production Operations Packaging Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a regulated or quality-focused industry
• Proven ability to manage teams and drive results in a production environment
• Familiarity with performance metrics, process analysis, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions
• Comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives and facilitating change
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
