Job description:
EIT Inc. is currently looking for Private Pilots who would be interested in participating in a 1-Day Paid FAA research study in a flight simulator for aviation safety. The research study calls for Private Pilots only, who do not have any additional ratings or endorsements, and for one day of flying a single engine flight simulator at the FAA’s research and development center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This study will be in support of an aviation safety study for the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) and the requirements are listed below. The FAA Study will span multiple months so the schedule for your 1-day is slightly adjustable. The pilot’s 1-day would be eight hours at the FAA’s William J. Hughes Technical Center at the Atlantic City International Airport. Participation in the study is completely voluntary and would be a great resume builder for anyone looking to go on to become a professional pilot. Pilots will play the role of research subject operating a flight simulator and not flying an actual airplane; therefore, the Private Pilot will not be flying for any compensation or hire. If you are close to meeting the needs, please apply and we will see if any gaps can be overcome.
Job Requirements:
1. Pilots must hold an FAA private pilot certificate.
2. Pilots must hold a current Class 3 FAA medical certificate or higher.
3. Pilots must have performed 3 takeoffs and 3 landings in the previous 6 months, with proof of takeoff and landings provided.
4. Because this study includes a simulated flight task in a fixed-wing airplane flight simulator, recent flight experience must be in an airplane.
a. Pilots do not meet inclusion criteria if their 6 months currency is based on operations in any of the following aircraft: powered-lift, rotorcraft, weight-shift-control aircraft, powered parachute, glider, lighter-than-air, UAS.
5. To obtain a relatively homogenous pilot sample in terms of training and flight experience, pilots with a student pilot certificate, sport pilot certificate, recreational pilot certificate, commercial pilot certificate, flight instructor certificate, airline transport pilot certificate, or remote pilot certificate are not eligible for this study.
6. Additional ratings and endorsements such as an instrument rating, multiengine rating, seaplane rating, tailwheel airplane endorsement, complex airplane endorsement, high-performance endorsement, glider endorsement, high-altitude endorsement are not eligible for this study.
7. Pilots must be at least 18 years of age – No maximum age restrictions.
Please be aware someone from our office will follow up requesting information to verify you are eligible. Resumes and attachments can be sent to hr@eitinc.net.
