Permitting Specialist

Pay: $40-$44/hr

Hybrid

Must Haves:

• 5+ years of permitting experience in telecom, utilities, or infrastructure projects
• Experience working with the local municipalities to process fiber permits
• Strong knowledge of local permitting processes in assigned region (Birmingham, AL; Huntsville, AL or Mobile, AL/Pensacola, FL)
• Advanced AutoCAD skills for drawing preparation and modification, preferably IQGeo
• Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with permitting authorities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple permit workflows

Plusses:

• Prior experience with AT&T IFP permitting strongly preferred
• IQGeo design experience

Day to Day: Insight Global is hiring Local Permit Specialists to support a large telecom provider’s fiber build permitting efforts in key Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast jurisdictions. These roles are regionally based and require engagement with local permitting authorities. Candidates must have direct experience with IFP permitting and be skilled in AutoCAD to prepare and submit permit-ready packages. These individuals will work from home majority of the time, but will travel onsite to the local jurisdictions and manage relationships and track permits.

• Prepare complete permit application packages including drawings, forms, and exhibits
• Submit permits to local jurisdictions and follow up regularly to expedite approvals
• Attend coordination meetings with city, county, and state permitting authorities
• Resolve review comments and revise drawings as needed to meet agency requirements
• Maintain detailed records of permit statuses, conditions, and approvals
• Collaborate with AT&T engineers and construction managers to align on project needs
• Provide weekly updates and participate in status calls with the project team
