Job Title: Patient Access Representative – Kidney Transplant Unit

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Assignment Length: 15 Weeks

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Access Representative to support the Kidney Transplant department. The ideal candidate will assist with patient registration, insurance verification, and authorization processes while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for kidney transplant patients, providing excellent customer service.
• Verify insurance coverage, obtain necessary authorizations, and ensure compliance with payer requirements.
• Accurately enter and maintain patient demographic and billing information in the system.
• Utilize medical terminology and ICD-9/ICD-10 codes to support billing and authorization documentation.
• Communicate with third-party insurers, government programs, and other agencies regarding patient eligibility and coverage.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth coordination of care.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel)
• Understanding of medical terminology and procedure codes (ICD-9/ICD-10)
• Knowledge of third-party insurance, government programs, and authorization procedures
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management, and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
