We are looking for an Optical Transport Lab Engineer - Richardson TX

Only W2 Candidates

No C2C candidates

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and configure lab test beds based on IT, Planning, and Engineering needs
• Ensure lab setups are production-ready before test or development starts
• Manage lab scheduling, availability, and inventory
• Troubleshoot test bed issues and engage vendors as needed
• Maintain lab uptime to production-like standards
• Install equipment, perform fiber maintenance, and handle card adds/pulls

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Strong background in SONET, DWDM, ROADM, OTN, MPLS, and Pseudowire
• Proven troubleshooting experience across L1-L3 transport platforms
• Solid understanding of IP core and transport protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, BFD, tunneling)
• Knowledge of telecom/service provider network architecture
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Hands-on experience with install, turn-up, and network integration best practices

Nice to Have:

• MEF/Carrier Ethernet Certifications
• Cisco NCS / Ciena 6500 / photonic switch experience
• Familiarity with lab operations and support workflows
• Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Shell, JavaScript, etc.)
