Job Description

Home Care Workforce Development Recruiter

Location: Bronx, NY

Status: Full-Time -35 Hours Per Week

Salary Range: $21.00-$24.00 Per Hour (determined based on experience)

Cooperative Home Care Associates (CHCA), the largest worker-owned cooperative in the U.S., is seeking a motivated and bilingual Home Care Workforce Development Recruiter to support our efforts in recruiting, preparing, and retaining qualified home care workers. This position plays a key role in both recruitment and participant support services within our Workforce Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Open House sessions and represent CHCA at job fairs to attract candidates.
  • Conduct one-on-one intake interviews to determine applicant eligibility and readiness.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to participants during training.
  • Ensure applicants meet New York State Home Care Registry (HCR) Training Program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete participant records and ensure timely data entry.
  • Track attendance and compliance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations.
  • Coordinate applicant readiness for employment, including required documentation.
  • Refer participants to external services (e.g., housing, public benefits, food resources).
  • Advocate on behalf of trainees navigating social service systems.
  • Lead "Job Readiness" workshops to prepare trainees for employment.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support job retention for trainees.

 

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in recruitment, workforce development, or case management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) required.
