Location: Midtown Manhattan (4 days/week) | Reports to: General Manager

Team Size: ~50-person office | Succession Opportunity : Long-tenured incumbent retiring

Join a respected international bank with deep roots and a stable, tenured NYC team. As the retiring Head of Operations transitions out after decades of service, this role offers a rare opportunity to lead and evolve a well-established operations function spanning Treasury, Loan Admin, Trade Finance, and Payments.

The Role:

As Head of Operations/COO, you'll oversee the full spectrum of branch operations—ensuring process integrity, regulatory compliance, and team effectiveness across all core operational areas.

Reporting directly to the General Manager (GM), you’ll serve as the operational backbone of the branch, while also spearheading modernization and efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all branch operations: Treasury Ops, Loan Admin, Funds Transfer, Trade Finance
  • Lead a multi-functional team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing
  • Streamline policies, workflows, and controls to drive process optimization
  • Maintain and evolve operations manuals, business continuity plans, and internal controls
  • Own operational budgeting and expense management across systems, staff, and vendors
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Compliance, Finance, and Executive Management
  • Lead regulatory readiness, audit responses, and ongoing risk/control monitoring
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing operations team
  • Ensure full compliance with BSA/AML, OFAC, CTF, and all regulatory requirements
  • Execute assigned projects and special initiatives from the GM/COO

What You Bring:

  • 10–15+ years of senior-level operations leadership in banking/financial services
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • Deep knowledge of bank ops across treasury, lending, and payments
  • Strong risk management orientation and familiarity with regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams while driving change
  • Process-minded leader with an eye for operational efficiency and continuous improvement
