Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive EHS Manager to lead all environmental, health, and safety initiatives at our food manufacturing facility. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, etc.), promoting a culture of safety, and developing systems that reduce risks and enhance employee well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing and a strong working knowledge of applicable EHS regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain all required safety documentation, permits, and records.
• Deliver training programs for employees on safety policies, emergency procedures, PPE use, and environmental compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to support safe and sustainable practices.
• Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and manage inspections.
• Track and report key safety and environmental metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses, spills, etc.).
• Develop sustainability initiatives and lead environmental compliance efforts including waste management, air/water permits, and chemical storage.
• Champion continuous improvement in safety culture and behavior across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
• Progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or beverage production.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
• Professional certifications preferred: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training skills.
• Proficiency in EHS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Spanish a plus.
