Overview

We are hiring a Data Entry Pharmacy Technician to support a growing pharmacy operations team. This fully onsite position is ideal for a Pharmacy Technician with strong data entry skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a tech-driven, fast-paced environment.

The right candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of maintaining speed and precision under pressure. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate intake of prescriptions and supporting a seamless medication fulfillment process.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter prescription details into the pharmacy management system in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Review scanned prescription documents and verify medication, prescriber, patient, and insurance data.
  • Communicate with pharmacists and leads to resolve discrepancies or missing information.
  • Consistently meet productivity and quality benchmarks for prescription intake.
  • Maintain accurate records of all data entry activity to support internal audits and compliance reviews.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues, including prescription errors or insurance denials.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and adhere to strict data privacy protocols.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred but not required.
  • 1–2 years of pharmacy technician experience required, with prior data entry experience in retail, mail-order, or long-term care settings.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems (e.g., QS/1, PioneerRx, FrameworkLTC, or similar).
  • Typing speed of 50+ WPM with high accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, drug names, insurance billing, and HIPAA standards.
  • Excellent written communication and time management skills.
  • Must be physically located in the state of Kentucky.

Schedule

  • Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $19.00–$26.00/hr, depending on experience and certifications.
  • Estimated Annual Salary: $39,500–$54,000
