Job Description

Solü is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join a dynamic team focused on advancing digital pathology through innovative data integration, algorithm development, and machine learning solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in automating workflows, performing complex image and data analyses, and developing scalable computational tools that enhance diagnostic capabilities and improve healthcare outcomes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply cutting-edge AI techniques within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with assay and algorithm development teams to ensure seamless data integration and maintain data integrity across complex digital pathology projects.
  • Design, develop, and implement robust automation solutions to streamline manual processes within algorithm development and data management workflows, enhancing efficiency and reproducibility.
  • Perform advanced image processing, data analysis, and predictive modeling on large-scale digital pathology datasets.
  • Build, test, and deploy computational tools and algorithms using Python or similar languages, ensuring high standards of code quality, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Apply expertise in digital pathology, machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and GUI development to create impactful solutions that improve algorithm performance.
  • Maintain meticulous traceability and integrity of all data, including images and associated metadata, to ensure compliance with relevant standards and contractual obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience developing, testing, and deploying solutions using Python or similar programming languages within a software development lifecycle.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with image analysis, machine learning/deep learning techniques, and AI concepts.
  • Proven ability to perform complex data modeling, processing, and analysis on large or intricate datasets.
  • Experience in developing graphical user interfaces (GUI) for technical applications or data visualization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries, particularly with digital pathology or medical imaging data.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards applicable to medical devices or software as a medical device (SaMD) (e.g., FDA guidance, IVDR).
  • Proficiency with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and related services.
  • Experience utilizing High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments for computationally intensive tasks.
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics or molecular modeling techniques.
