Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst who thrives on using data to drive operational and strategic decisions. This role will be pivotal in designing and maintaining scalable reporting tools, dashboards, and system enhancements that support our purchasing, merchandising, and inventory teams.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen—particularly with Tableau, SQL, and Excel —along with a deep understanding of business processes and data structures. While inventory analysis is part of the scope, the primary focus is to elevate our business intelligence infrastructure and improve system integration and data visibility across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Systems Development

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau (or similar BI tools) to deliver insights on service levels, supplier performance, forecast accuracy, and operational KPIs.
  • Utilize SQL and data warehouse systems to extract and transform data for analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process gaps and drive improvements in data pipelines, system workflows, and automated reporting.
  • Translate business requirements into system and reporting solutions that inform strategic planning and day-to-day execution.
  • Partner with IT and operational leads on system enhancements and integration projects to improve data governance and accessibility.
  • Lead small-scale BI projects focused on increasing forecasting precision and workflow automation.

Inventory Data & Analytical Support (Secondary Focus)

  • Provide structured, data-driven inventory insights to support Purchasing Managers and improve planning accuracy.
  • Create weekly inventory and purchasing performance dashboards to highlight trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Help forecast future inventory needs through scenario modeling and simulation tools.
  • Conduct item master data reviews and help ensure integrity across ERP and planning systems.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in business systems analysis, BI development, or data analytics.
  • Proven track record of developing dashboards and BI solutions to support cross-functional teams.
  • Experience delivering data-driven insights and reporting solutions that influenced operational strategy.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Tableau , Power BI, or other BI platforms.
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling expertise.
  • High fluency in Microsoft Excel , including complex formulas and pivot tables.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory data structures preferred.

Analytical & Soft Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, especially with regard to systems integration and automation.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently or in team environments.
