Job Title: Building Projects CAD Systems Specialist

Location: 1400 South Carolina 101, Greer, SC 29651, United States

Work Arrangement:

• 100% onsite during onboarding
• Post-onboarding: 60% onsite / 40% remote

I. Position Purpose/Scope

Responsible for managing and maintaining CAD and BIM drawings to support facility-related construction projects across BMW’s North America region. Plays a key role in transitioning CAD to BIM formats and updating facility and real estate management databases, including the migration to SAP REFX. Ensures documentation integrity, compliance with internal standards, and supports digitalization efforts.

II. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review design/as-built drawings for accuracy and consistency with BMW standards.
• Conduct field verifications and laser scans to obtain accurate site data.
• Maintain BMW’s internal drawing archive and facility information system (square footage, locations, etc.).
• Support facility management and real estate development teams across various projects.
• Facilitate consolidation of drawings from multiple contractors into unified documents.
• Assist in transitioning internal systems to SAP REFX, ensuring drawing compatibility.
• Perform CAD modifications (approx. 25% of role) and support 2D to 3D and BIM conversions.
• Maintain and modify BMW Real Estate Project Systems (KLUSA, SWOOP).
• Coordinate with internal project leads and external engineering firms.
• Implement and promote LEAN methodology across real estate and construction projects.
• Support digitalization initiatives for real estate development and facility management.
• Other duties as assigned by the Capital Projects Management Team.

III. Required Qualifications

Education:

• BA/BS in Engineering, IT, or related technical field (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Structural)
• OR equivalent experience (minimum of 4 years in a related professional role)

Experience:

• 5+ years in IT or engineering within an industrial/construction environment
• 5+ years working with BIM software
• 2+ years with LEAN methodology

Skills/Knowledge:

• Expert: CAD systems (AutoCAD or similar), BIM software (e.g., Revit)
• Advanced: Reading/interpreting multi-discipline engineering drawings (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical)
• Intermediate to Advanced: Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic to Intermediate: Experience with SAP REFX is a plus

Nice to Have:

• German language proficiency
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) implementation
• Familiarity with KLUSA, SWOOP, or similar project systems
