JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Barback (Bellini)
Department: Food and Beverage
Immediate Supervisor : F&B Manager

This job description serves as a guide for defining expectations and responsibilities for this position. It may be updated at the discretion of management and may include additional or modified duties as assigned.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Main Purpose: To support bartenders by ensuring they have all necessary supplies and a clean, organized workspace, allowing them to focus on serving guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver the brand promise and consistently provide exceptional guest service.
  • Offer outstanding service to both external guests and internal team members.
  • Handle guest and employee complaints and inquiries courteously and efficiently. Escalate guest concerns promptly to the Bar Manager or Restaurant Manager.
  • Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions and foster strong working relationships.
  • Prepare all products according to standardized venue recipes, with attention to portion control.
  • Coordinate with support staff to ensure the bar is adequately stocked and prepared for service.
  • Help maintain inventory at par levels.
  • Work with urgency and assist team members as needed.
  • Communicate with management and staff to address guest needs, comments, or incidents.
  • Adhere to all state and federal liquor laws.
  • Create and maintain a fun, upbeat, and energetic atmosphere.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and playful manner.
  • Stand or walk for a minimum of eight hours per shift within assigned bar areas.
  • Remain observant and responsive, while multitasking and managing high-stress situations.
  • Operate various equipment, including carts, soda/liquor guns, espresso machines, blenders, ice machines, and knives.
  • Perform physical activities such as twisting, pushing/pulling, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.; push/pull up to 150 lbs.).
  • Use hand motions effectively to prepare and pour drinks.
  • Work efficiently in high-volume, fast-paced environments with high noise levels, flashing lights, and other sensory distractions.
  • Be available to work in both indoor and outdoor settings year-round based on business needs.
  • Attend and actively participate in required training sessions and team meetings.
  • Exhibit responsible behavior and represent the hotel brand positively.
  • Maintain professional relationships with competitors, business partners, and external contacts.
  • Read and follow the hotel’s Employee Handbook, including policies on hygiene, safety, and computer resources.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and presentation.
  • Adapt to changes in guest experience standards, industry trends, and hotel initiatives.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a high-volume, service-focused restaurant.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for learning and improving beverage knowledge.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Ability to maintain excellent customer service in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Familiarity with bar equipment such as dishwashers, coolers, slicers, and ice machines.
  • Fluent in English (multilingual skills are a plus).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with Mr. C’s standards.
