POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Designer supports the Sr. Designer in all phases of developing seasonal design concept presentations, creating color palettes, and managing the creation and maintenance of Quarterly Assortment Boards. This role requires adherence to the design calendar deadlines and supporting all facets of product development. The ideal candidate possesses a strong creative eye for design, with the ability to develop innovative products that drive the business forward.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Technical Design teams to develop new products, supporting the Sr. Designer by providing detailed product information and creating technical flat sketches for tech packs.
  • Creates and maintains Quarterly Assortment Boards, ensuring accuracy and timely updates to reflect design and business needs.
  • Manages multiple seasons at varying stages of development while adhering to the corporate development calendar and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Assists the Sr. Designer in creating Seasonal Design Concept Presentations, Fashion Stories, Color Palettes, and Print Presentation through trend analysis and market research.
  • Re-colors prints as needed, ensuring alignment with seasonal stories and design direction.
  • Supports new fabric and sourcing development by managing and updating the New Fabric Development Charts, reviews strike-offs, and design-related documentation.
  • Prepares accurate rendered flat sketches across categories for visual presentations and assortment boards.
  • Develops and modifies images for print and silhouette testing assets using AI tools.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of the competitive retail landscape, interest in the plus sized market, and contributes to brainstorming sessions for new product opportunities.
  • Ensures all deliverables are completed with minimal errors, maintaining a high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization.
  • Attends Quarterly Assortment Meetings, Design Concept Presentations, Print Presentations, Fittings, and other meetings as needed to support the design process.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 3+ years of Design experience with strong product development expertise across various product categories in women’s wear.
  • Ability to efficiently develop commercial and brand-appropriate color and print direction.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AI, Keynote, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PLM.
  • Demonstrates strong efficiency in time management and adaptability.
