Job Description

Administrative Receptionist Needed in Santa Barbara, CA (3 - 4 weeks assignment)

Location : Santa Barbara, CA

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation : $20 - $24/hour

Temp: 3 - 4 weeks (possible extension)

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and organized Administrative Receptionist to support our transportation office operations. This role is essential in ensuring smooth administrative functions while maintaining a secure and professional front office environment. The lobby is closed to the public, so this position focuses on internal coordination and controlled access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming phone calls professionally
  • Greet and assist visitors via intercom system
  • Prepare and distribute incoming/outgoing mail
  • Accept and log deliveries
  • Order and maintain office supplies and inventory
  • Prepare checks and assist with basic accounting tasks
  • Perform general administrative duties (filing, scanning, data entry)
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors
  • Maintain confidentiality and security protocols

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
  • 1+ years of administrative or front desk experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Work Environment

  • Office-based role with limited public interaction
  • Lobby is closed to the public; access is controlled via intercom
  • Professional, team-oriented environment
